We found that 87% of students and staff want their university to invest in renewables

Before we began our Divest-Invest campaign, we wanted to find out whether or not staff and students thought this was an important issue. Their response was overwhelming.

87% of staff and students think that their institution should be investing in renewables, and 74% would like the opportunity to invest locally. And nearly half agree that universities should break financial ties with fossil fuel companies, from research to investments.

We’ve uncovered a strong feeling within the education sector, and it’s clear that universities need to move their money.
